Facelift for Volvo XC90

Volvo has given its XC90 a bit of a facelift.

VOLVO has announced a host of refinements for its premium SUV, the XC90, even though last year was its most successful in terms of sales.
It is nine years since it first arrived at car showrooms and the revamp will keep it fresh looking and enhance the driving experience.
Since 2002, the XC90 has offered a great blend of style, practicality and versatility (with its seven seats) and led the way to a bigger range via the XC70 and XC60.
The upgraded model will be on sale in showrooms from late October.
“The XC90 still boasts all the virtues that have made it one of our most successful models ever. The spacious and flexible crossover combines excellent handling and comfort with superior get-you-there ability and flexibility. Now we have upgraded the XC90 with a number of features that emphasise the large SUV’s unique blend of sophisticated elegance and capable ruggedness,” says Peter Mertens, senior vice-president research and revelopment at the Volvo.
A new day running light configuration using LEDs in the lower bumper gives the front end extra character and a new silver metallic bumper bar and silver roof rails are now standard.
At the rear, new tail lamps have dual light guides, LED brake lights and a silver turn indicator bulb (still with orange light). The new six-spoke 18-inch wheels come in a silver matt finish.
The interior has also been upgraded and has a more luxurious feel with a variety of new touches.
The XC90 is also available in an Executive spec featuring exclusive options such as soft leather seats with ventilation and massage.
An R-Design version boosts the car’s sports appeal and adds to the driver’s enjoyment. It also features redesigned upholstery, inlays, door panels and new Ixion 19-inch wheels.
Volvo’s On Call system can now be combined with Bluetooth phone connection and has been upgraded with music streaming – the only car brand to offer Bluetooth music streaming throughout the range.A mobile application ensures that the driver can stay in touch with the parked car via an iPhone or Android smart phone.
