BMW approves Bike Trac for insurance discount

Celebrity biker Charlie Boorman whose bike was recovered using Bike Trac.

BMW has approved the Bike Trac system for use on its machines giving a 10 per cent discount for bikes covered by BMW Insurance which are fitted with the system.
The tracking system has been developed by the Road Angel Group specifically for use on motorcycles.
One celebrity rider to have benefited from the system this year is Charley Boorman, whose own  BMW R1200 GS Adventure and a BMW S 1000 RR Sport were stolen, but recovered in just 38 minutes.
It has also been used by BMW Motorrad UK which has seen all of its stolen bikes recovered this year.
Users have the ability to log-in to an online portal to track recent journeys, see live location information and even check the bike’s battery voltage.
Bike Trac’s Bill Taylor commented, “We’ve been working with BMW Motorrad UK for some time, and have proven the system with a number of recoveries, the most high profile being Charley Boorman’s GS Adventure.
“While we already enjoy recognition with several other manufacturers, to gain official approval by the BMW Insurance scheme is great news for our customers, with yet another reason to choose Bike Trac.”
A Bike Trac system costs from £299.99 inc VAT.
