THERE are two distinct versions of the latest Mitsubishi Outlander, the PHEV GX3h, or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle, or this week’s test car which is the 2.2-litre diesel-engined model.
WHAT IS so puzzling about the Mitsubishi ASX is why it hasn’t been more popular in the UK. Curiously, and without referring to statistics, its presence seemed more obvious on roads on the other side of the Channel, where a Breton neighbour had one and which, coincidentally, sported the same dashing white livery as the test car!
THE Mini has always been a car big on style and desirability but, well, mini on practicality, even the bigger BMW produced, latter day versions of the model. That has now changed, slightly, with the hatchback, particularly the five-door version. It is bigger, longer by 72mm and has more boot space, up by 67 litres and, together with the three door version, is the model’s first foray into the hatchback market.

MEET the Lexus IS 300h F-Sport Auto. The “h” stands for hybrid, which to most people means a car which is “green” – kind to the planet, but not very exciting to drive.
That may be the case for many, but this Lexus comes with the F Sport badge – which means it’s a bit more than that – in fact, it’s a lot more than that.

AUTO-TRAIL’S range of motorhomes have a smart new look this year thanks in part to Fiat’s new and thoroughly modern looking cab. Codenamed the X290, it features redesigned lights and grille and looks completely different. Gone are the bug-eyed headlights in favour of much narrower profile light units giving the entire range an updated, more modern base vehicle that’s a big improvement.
