CITROEN’S C4 Cactus has become a familiar sight on our roads now and its trademark bright colours always make me smile and wonder who is buying cars with such garish paintwork. This week’s test car features a discreet black finish, but bright yellow, green, turquoise and orange have all been spotted on our roads.
THE Citroen DS3 is an excellent little hatchback that looks good and is fun to drive, but the car itself is not the main focus of this roadtest, it’s what’s under the bonnet that is the main talking point. Some say that having only three cylinders can be a disadvantage due to the lack of bottom-end torque, but in this case, thanks to Citroen’s use of a slightly larger capacity engine, I would disagree.
THE Dacia Duster is a full four-wheel-drive SUV. Its price tag is a clear indication of what you get – a no-frills but fairly rugged soft roader which comes with a proper four-wheel-drive system capable of running in either two wheel drive or all-wheel-drive. It even has a lock mechanism for particularly sticky situations.
